WORLD HEALTH DAY 2010
Every year’s 7th April has been marked as the World Health Day. This day is celebrated across the world with the sponsorship of the World Health Organization (WHO).
Talking about the history of World Health Day, in 1948, the World Health Organization (WHO) held the First World Health Assembly. The Assembly decided to celebrate 7 April of each year, with effect from 1950, as the World Health Day.
This year’s theme of WHO World Health Day 2010 is ‘Be part of a global movement to make cities healthier’. The motive behind this year’s World Health Day is to focus on urbanization and health.
Unlike other years, this time too there will be campaigns in around 1000 cities, 1000 lives, and events will be organized worldwide during the week of 7 – 11 April 2010.
